True-Impedance Level Attenuator
Through its ultra-high-precision true-balanced circuit, it is compatible with all home and professional audio equipment.
Linear impedance attenuators are installed on balanced inputs I, II, and III.
These are very useful with today’s advanced components (converters, streaming servers, CD/DVD/Blu-ray players, etc.), some of which produce excessively high voltage levels—far exceeding standardized levels.
Such high levels can overload the input stage, forcing users to set the line stage’s level control extremely low, so low that the line stage effectively functions as an attenuator rather than a preamplifier.
The precision attenuators in the FM 266 MKII series reduce these excessive levels while maintaining perfect balance (which is no easy task!). This, in turn, optimizes the system’s overall gain structure and allows for optimal level control settings.
New modules are used for the inputs. They help achieve an impressive 100 dB rejection of interference, hum, and noise, making the FM 266-MKII immune to these negative effects.
This excellent interference rejection is not achieved with low-cost operational amplifiers, but through finely tuned discrete Class A circuitry, ensuring the ultimate resolution in the unique FM ACOUSTICS manner.
