The TERMINATOR 15th is a balanced R2R DAC. Each channel features an independent high-speed FPGA and uses four 0.005% R2R arrays for D/A conversion. It utilizes high-end OCXOs and an isolated dual power supply system to reduce high-frequency noise and electromagnetic interference, ensuring pure and stable audio signal processing.
1. Digital/Analog Isolation
The TERMINATOR 15th's digital processing board is fully isolated from the R2R ladder network array and physically connected via an OCXO module, minimizing noise and maximizing signal-to-noise ratio.
2. Oven-Controlled Crystal Oscillator (OCXO)
The TERMINATOR 15th is equipped with dual 45.1584 MHz and 49.152 MHz OCXOs, ensuring ultra-low phase noise and excellent accuracy. These OCXOs are housed in a metal housing and powered by a specially designed shielded power supply for optimal stability.
1. The Foundation of Superior Sound Quality
A dedicated linear power supply unit is enclosed in a rugged 1.5mm-thick metal alloy housing, with an additional steel plate partition between the DAC motherboard and PSU box for enhanced EMI/EMF shielding.
2. Innovative Box-in-Box Design
This eliminates the issues of a two-box solution, highlighting Denafrips' refined design and attention to detail.
3. Premium Components
Dual O-type transformers are used for both the digital and analog sections, with ultra-low ESR and long-life storage capacitors. The multi-stage super-linear power supply ensures ultra-precise, low-ripple power delivery.
